Just got the automated recorded call from them. This is the 8th time in the past 3 months. It's a scam, if this happens to you report them to the irs fraud department. But sometimes I just love to call them and go along with it actin like I'm really going to pay just to mess with them and troll them as long as possible playing dumb to keep them on my line so that it takes away from them trying to scam someone else that doesn't know what's going on.
This number called my disabled elderly mother today claiming they were the IRS told her that they had a warrant for her arrest and that if she did not pay them $4265.00 that they will be seizing all of her assets. I later called the number back told them that if they ever called her/this number again that I will press charges, the guy was a foreigner he started to cuss me out then told me he would f**k me with a knife and hung up on me. This is definitely not the IRS people so be careful and DO NOT give any personal information to them they will hack into your life. I also called the actual IRS they told me if it was something coming from the IRS it would come by mail and would be a certified letter, also they would never ask for personal information over the phone or by an email. They said there are scams out there claiming to be the IRS and if someone claiming to be from the IRS contacts you that you should report it to the IRS website.
Called and said that she was Susan Brown form the IRS. She was incredibly rude, has a strong accent and asked if I spoke English when I did comply with her request to tell her if i had 5699.00 to pay her within the hour. I was told hire an attorney settle the debt or go to jail for 5 year. Said that they do not mail information and that I was attempting to defraud the government like thousands of other people. I asked to speak with Susan supervisor she then yelled angrily hire an attorney and hung up on me.
