I normally do not answer unfamiliar phone numbers. I am a disabled senior citizen and did answer this one as the Caller ID showed IND SUR GROUP. I was thinking Surgery Group as I have had a number of surgeries in the recent past. Anyway, no one answered and I checked on 800 notes and found this is just another one of the many needless interruptions (scams) that make life in our later days so frustrating.
My bad... Not everyone has a smart phone, you are correct (no need to be rude about it). Auto dialer doesn't know the difference between a land line and a cell phone it just dials and waits for the call to be connected then uses that connection to get info off of your phone. If it is a land line then obviously there isn't any information to be taken. However, if it is a cell phone, that "connection" leaves your phone wide open for anyone with half a brain to hack into and steal all information stored on it. Whoever is doing this is "phishing" for information. I've had my identity stolen once before, just trying to give others a heads up. Ever notice if any of your contacts get calls from the same number, or has same experience with no one on the other line?
You must realize that this call is coming from the country that purports to be leader of the "free" world. In their ramblings they mention they are doing a survey on "the current election". They don't even realize that they are calling Canada and that Canada is not taking part in the USA election. Does that tell you something about the intelligence level of the caller(s)? Perhaps we all should send condolence messages to the President telling him how dumb his constituents are?
