Collection call violating federal laws. The collection is on a grown (over 40) step child. Told me they would not take my phone number off their records.
Left message for "me or my attorney, if I've hired one to represent me" to call 1-800-527-5130, Cynthia Brock at Bowen Associates. No details left with regard to what this is in reference to; I don't have many outstanding debts, so I can only assume that this is about one debt that there was a problem with (and about which I've been in contact with the original company, who said they would handle it--still, the calls keep coming).
They call and hang up when someone answers. So I called the number and got some fool who said they were a "third party collection agency". Told them we don't owe anyone any money, so no reason to be calling my phone.... and the hang-ups are annoying and illegal. The turd said, "we don't call and hangup, there must be something wrong with your phone". Time for a trip to Lewisville TX to do a little "collection" of my own... permanent disconnection of Bowen & [***].
