Got a call from here. Did not answer.
They left a message indicating that someone who does not live in my house (actually only the last name matched) should call them back to verify activity. If this is legit, I would think they would have the correct telephone number!
I had a voice mail. I recently received my current phone number and the message was for someone else. It was Fidelity asking them to call a 1-800 number about their account.
Received a call from Fidelity Investments. When I called back they apologized and said they would take my name off their call list. However, after giving them my phone number she asked for my SSN. When I said no, she hung up on me. Can you say .... SCAM! Will report this one as it came into my cell.
It seems very UN-professorial of them not to leave a message in reference to the call. I would never give SS number or B'Date to someone who calls and claims they are from somewhere.Be very cautious it could be some scam-er using the Fidelity name.
I received a number of LEGITIMATE calls from this number. However, I did not answer but they have left messages each time. The message they leave references valid information, unlikely that those calls are from scammers. The caller is consistent and leaves a name, number and extension. Because I have not answered the calls because I did not recognize the number a letter was sent to me and it verifies the caller's name and call back information. The 800 call back number they leave is searchable and comes up as "Fidelity Rollover Department".
If you do get a call from this number (or anything similar) it is wisest to not provide any personal information. Ask them to follow up with a letter. They should already have your mailing address on file and should NOT require that you provide it over the phone.
