got a call at 6:17 pm from this woman that sounded half awake or on drugs and said she was calling for my step father about windows his windows computer...no joke just like that.smh..this woman then says it has a virus.i told her i work with computers and i would know if anything was wrong and told her i would report her and hung up.these kind of calls are getting horrible in the us and need to be stopped!!
Female Indian with very poor English. Said my computer was sending messages to their office for the past two weeks which indicated a virus infection. Just one problem: My computer was a Windows 10 victim six weeks ago and has yet to be fixed. Nice try, phisher.
Number called once, didn't leave a message. It's from "Dallas, TX" which one of my business offices is out of- so the next time it called, I picked up in case it was someone from that office... Just like almost every other comment said above, female with clearly English as second language, accent, saying she was from "windows technical support." I asked "this is for WINDOWS?" and she told me that she's calling for "both windows & mac systems" - odd if you work for windows, to be calling about my mac... but okay "go on..." I told her... she said that my computer had been sending messages the last two weeks and "do you know someone personally from NY?" when I said gosh I'm not sure, she said "well this is very VERY bad! This could be a very BAD thing, someone is trying to hack into your system"... I hung up.
These people have literally called EVERY MORNING at the same time since my last post. It only rings like 4 times then they hang up. It's as bad as Omaha Steaks' daily calls...smh
Got the call from dallas - 972-591-8170. Lady named Nora from "tech support" same virus pitch as above. I said I would love to get that squared away but how did she get my number since I have an IT team. She said from support. When I told her I googled the number and its a scam and im part of the do not call list she said "you sir are a piece of $h!t" and hung up.
