The message on my answering machine said they were calling from US Mint. They wanted to talk to me, by name, and gave a correct order number. The call back number they gave was a correct 800 number for USM, so I called it. They wanted to verify my shipping address and confirm shipment date. So, this call was legit.
Just had a call from 1-972-9881-2900 (PFSWEB,Inc) - Picked up on 3rd ring to a dial tone. I have placed no orders with anyone I haven't ordered from before so there's no reason for anyone to be checking about something they haven't bothered to check before. And if they are so hot to talk to me, why hang up on the 3rd ring. These types of calls are coming one a daily basis from all kinds of numbers -- and they are very irritating. Sure am glad I found this site.
Called from www.pfsweb.com fraud division. Sent them an email and they answered within minutes. Internet fraud with orders not made by me using my debit card still in my possesion even having the three number on the back correct. Scammers are getting good at stealing numbers. I'll say this, ECOST.com fraud division certainly in my case was on the ball this time.
got a call from this - they left a message. was a company that deals with fulfillment of online/catalog orders. in my case it was for lucky brand jeans. they needed some additional info because i accidentally gave the wrong billing address. sounds like a third-party service, but they were helpful!
I just got a call from this number. In my case it was from Tractor Supply - they jacked up an order I placed over a week ago for some heavy winter outerwear and they were calling to tell me they had fixed their issue. Strange since Tractor Supply corporate and their order center are in TN, but oh well...
