I received a phone call from number stating that he is the assistant manager of Royal Caribbean, stating that I won a free trip or a choice of round trip travel anywhere around the United States.
I just received the same call as what is described below. I stated up front that I was on a cell phone and had no idea who she was. The lady (Indian accent) said I had entered a contest in a city about 2.5 hours away over a year ago. I had won a cruise/flight package for 2. I asked the name of the company multiple times and the lady (Indian accent) kept saying it, but was speaking in a way that was deliberately hard to understand. I was reluctant to answer any of her questions, and I asked if I specifically had filled out the application with my own hand. She was evasive with those kinds of questions. Then she stated "you sound like you have doubts, and you don't sound happy to have won this vacation". I told her that I don't usually enter those kind of contests, I didn't remember doing anything like that, I'm rarely ever in that city, and I'm going to be pissed off if this is some gimmick to get me to go listen to some guy give a talk. She then stated "oh, since you do not live in that city, you will probably not be able to claim the prize, right?" and hung up.
I just got a call from 972-994-6717. iPhone identifies it as a Dallas, TX number. I don't answer calls from phone numbers I don't recognize. They left not voice mail. Adding to my "Block this Caller" list.
