Have been calling several times a day for over a month. They are trying to solicit payment history information for our customer to build their "payment history" database.
They make it seem like an urgent matter with a case number asking us to resolve this important matter for our customer. The number they leave to call back just rings with no answer. 866-658-3140
I called the 973-929-3290 number and told them what happened with the other number, that we do not give out that kind of information about our customers, and to please stop calling. They pretend not to know anything about it then transfer me back to the unanswered 866 number. I did get put through to someone's voice mail after calling the 973 number back after they put me through to the unanswered 866 number. I again asked them to stop calling, that we do not give out that information, and that we are seriously annoyed at the interruptions and wasted time and resources. They called again after that in the afternoon. Complaint filed with FTC and will never do business with D&B or its affiliates again.
The just called our company - same thing as the other comments - asked for someone in managment. Said they were from D&B. We do have a current account with D&B. They would not contact to "update" our records this way. This called seemed very wrong on many levels. Just left the woman on hold.
thanks for info. listed above. why they are calling my personal cell phone to check up on my business which is listed under my private landline , is unknown. I never answer calls from unfamiliar numbers, saves me lots of minutes .....they will never connect w/me and I don't have voice mail on cell for this reason, I have it on landline and anyone who has a valid reason to contact me knows how to reach us. Dunn & Bradstreet is a good, well known company and I'm surprised they are stooping to this low-life level of activity. thanks for doing the legwork folks !
Just received a call from this number. Did not answer. They left a message asking for my company's information. My company does not do any business with D&B so definitely seems like a scam.
received a call stating they were looking to update information on the unified school district I used to work for...not likely I will give it to them... and they called from this 973 area code and left an 800-872-4349 number to call back with a reference number.. REALLY?? not a chance that will happen...
Just received a call from them stating they were Dun & Bradstreet, which I registered my company with back in 2008 and received a DUNS number. They just called me asking for someone who I have never heard of, owner of a company I am not familiar with so they could "verify some information". I told them this phone number was not affiliated with that person or company and they proceeded to ask me more questions about this so-called company as if I was not telling them the truth.
After repeatedly telling them I have no affiliation with this company or person(s), I hung up on them. I agree with several others who posted on this board...seems really shady to me.
