I received another "Your computer is infected" scam call from this number. I let the man (who had a foreign accent) know he was a scam and told him to stop calling and hung up.
Normally, I post the caller id information. However, because I suspect it may be spoofed, I will *not* post the individual's name that came up, lest I name an innocent 3rd party.
As an aide, I wish there was some sort of category for this type of call, or an "other" option... none of the other call types seem appropriate.
Same call with Caller ID called at 6:30 am. Told me to turn on my computer.....it was already on....and if it wasn't, how would he know it was sending replicating messages and get my phone number. Idiot. I'm blocking the number. He called back and hour and a half later, I didn't answer. Says he's a Microsoft Certified tech. So why a private number.
Rec'd a call at 6:41 a.m. Told me my messages were being replicated, knew my name.... Told me it would a few easy steps to correct problem - I should go to my computer while on the phone with him..... Number came up as 989 892 9649...
told him to call me back - he did several times and I did not answer. Scared me as I was still in a daze at that time. They should be stopped..
