I got this same scam call from Sterling, Va. ... Idiot didn't identify who he was calling for, and even though he said it was a "time-sensitive" matter and that I should call back as soon as I received the call, he didn't leave a call back number; had to get it off my caller ID. When I called the number back, it cut off after several rings - no voice mail. Same badge number and name given - Jonathan Knight, Badge #06719. Computerized voice, sounded like he was from India.
Got a call from 571-210-5961 from a Jonathan Knight from the IRS saying they had detected fraud in our taxes. Sterling Virgina was the place the call came from. I noticed someone else got a call from a Jonathon Knight also. Voice sounded almost automated. Gave his spiel then hung up.
I received A call from the same idiot and number
A foreigner calling me to tell me I owe the IRS is like the emails you receive asking for your bank info. But the moron didn't even leave a number to call back.... Duh!
Got a call Jonathan Knight, claimed he was an IRS agent said something about fraud involving my return. Tried to call back, phone number won't go through, I think this criminal is using an offline internet phone line, his voice is robotic and computerized. Don't fall for this scam. It called 5:11 pm eastern time on Wed.
9:32AM ET: I just got a call from this number. Sounds like the same robotic Jonathan Knight that others have heard from. I reported it to the IRS phone scam online at www.tigta.gov
