Same heavy east indian accented woman called my wife today. She could hardly understand her, but she asked about our Windows computer.... The big laugh, we have a Mac! They are up to something....
This call from Beaverton OR called at 11:11PM.... Yes, that's right... almost midnight. The 'message' left on voicemail was a ping sound and an automated "goodbye."
this number called my home phone which goes to an automated voice mail in 4 rings, they called back immediately 4 times, which is why I went to the phone to check it could have been from family and an
emergency.. they just kept calling back, couple of times said home security, then unknown.
glad I didn't answer without checking the phone number first.
Got a call from this number 971-217-9508 this evening. The man on the other end (in a Indian accent)stated he was from Microsoft and my computer has been giving out distress signals for quite some time that it has been effected by malware....yea right, like Microsoft cares about all the individual computers in North America with virus problems! Told him he was a SCAMMER and he should be ashamed of himself.
I am in Canada and they are still at it. My call display said only LONG DISTANCE but the number was 971-217-9508. I asked the name of his company but he was difficult to understand. However after reading the other posts, it did sound like UTECHSUPPORT. I told him to remove my number from his list and not call me again. He hung up.
Got a call with caller id 'HOMESECURITY'; - yeah right!
Strong Indian accent - muttered something about my windows computer.
I informed him this is a 'Do not call number' and he asked me why I was putting my phone number in the 'Do not call number' list, like I was some kind of retard.
I told him loudly (in a very strong fake Indian accent) that it was to stop idiots like him pestering me - then hung up,
He hasn't called back yet - but I am ready with the Air Horn if he does!
