Same heavy east indian accented woman called my wife today. She could hardly understand her, but she asked about our Windows computer.... The big laugh, we have a Mac! They are up to something....
Guy said he was calling from "Mee-am-me" and was from the "tech center" of my computer.... (definite foreign person).... Asked if he was calling from Maimi, Florida and he said "yes, that's the place"..... Caller ID shows number originates from Beaverton, OR...... I hung up on him and tried to call the number back, wouldn't work...... Interesting how they can do this..........
I live in Canada and received a phone call from this number. A woman with an accent said she was calling about my computer. "My computer?" I asked. "Yes," she said. "I received messages from your computer. It has a virus of some kind." I knew my computer was well protected with anti-virus software, and so I replied, "That is untrue!" to which she replied, "It is true!" Then I hung up.
Called me several times and a guy with an accent which I could not understand him, told me he was from some security place. I told him to not call my number again and I hung up. Total scam.
I just lifted the receiver, hung up and then placed the number on my block caller list. You could tell it was a telemarketer or scam just by the number on the caller id. I don't know anyone or do business with anyone in Beaverton Oregon.
