This is a scam. My employer received a voice message on the general number. Someone named Sophie claimed to be from the "Illegal Payments Division of Western Union in New Jersey" and asked me to call her back at a '732' number. I called Western Union to verify. They said it was not associated with them and not to call back. If Western Union actually calls you, they will give you an '800' number. They will also not ask you to provide information.
This is not a scam, they are Western Union Global Pay sales office. They assist companies with international transfer exchange rates. If they contacted you, you may be on a call list for businesses.
Read about this number being associated with JCP&L; however . . . . Jill Donitz from Western Union Business Solutions wanted to speak with a specific Finance manager last week, who didn't respond to her message. She called again to follow up, and we finally concluded that he was the wrong contact. Her inquiry regarded wires (transferring funds), but the firm has already contracted with someone else for that purpose. Ms. Donitz refused to introduce herself through Purchasing, so we agreed that she should try Accounts Payable. She was professional enough but a fast talker who barely let me get a word in edgewise. I was so exasperated at one point that I was ready to yell, "For gosh sakes, lady, shut up!"
