Received a call from this number today. It is coming from an area in Oradell, New Jersey. Called the Bergen County Police Department for Oradell, NJ at 201-261-0200. They are aware of these calls going out, but are unable to trace the calls without a court order. Spoke with a SGT. Smith and he said to hang up, and not respond with pressing any numbers. I have the number blocked on my telephone, and filed a complaint with the FTC - Do Not Call.
Do Not Call list requires the telemarketer to actually subscribe or look at the list to remove your number from their call list.
This outfit is illegal and they know it. They won't use the list. They may be using Internet phone services and/or software that allows them to spoof numbers so they can avoid getting arrested.
If the government really wanted to help they would make Internet phone services illegal. These types of calls are a waste of my day.
Just got one from the same number. Haven't had these crooks try my number in almost 3 months. Hopefully they get caught some day. Then we can all call them at any time of the day or night and they have no option to turn off their phone.
