Called asking for the old CEO who left over 10 years ago. He was "surprised" to hear that. Then asked for the new CEO. I asked what the call was about and he just told me he used to do business with the old CEO and he wanted to chat with the new one. There is no way I would transfer with that information so I sent him to a voicemail. He hung up before the call completed.
These persistent pests have called yet again, big surprise. The guy didn't introduce himself or anything, just asked for the boss by first name as If they were on a first name basis. When told the boss doesn't work in the office, the guy acknowledged this and disconnected. I was not fooled. I knew they'd be calling again, and again, and again, because they have been doing that. So, because it was an actual company rather than a straight scam artist, I called back and left a message telling them our phone number, how they didn't seem to understand "no" for an answer so they must be real fun on dates (I let my distaste and sarcasm tinge my voice on that), explained that the next time they called, I would blow a whistle into the receiver and to consider that their warning. We shall see what happens next.
