Called asking for the old CEO who left over 10 years ago. He was "surprised" to hear that. Then asked for the new CEO. I asked what the call was about and he just told me he used to do business with the old CEO and he wanted to chat with the new one. There is no way I would transfer with that information so I sent him to a voicemail. He hung up before the call completed.
I know it is a tactic- but it absolutely blows my mind and pisses me the Eff off when a Telemarketer likes to use the "i'm trying to sound super important so if i talk fast and quick my call will get through"
I answer with standard greeting and DoucheLord responds (not with hello or hi) but "Can i talk to Joe?"
I reply slowly- "Which Joe?" his reply- "oh sorry..."Smith"
I ask who is calling and he replies "Adam- BlaBlaBla from Tucker Enterprises...."
I ask what the call is regarding and his reply (again blows my mind how dumb these guys think we are) "Tell Him I'm returning a call.."
Again (slowly) i ask- "a phone call from him??"
Callers reply was a confident "yes"
Yeahh... No.
I searched the number while he was on Hold nad then plopped him direct to voicemail
