I received a call on my cell that was an automated message, male voice with slight non-descriptive accent (understandable). He said that he was calling from AT&T and that my U-Verse system was reporting an error and that my system had been compromised and that I needed to call back at the same number. TOTAL SCAMMING/PHISHING operation. BLOCKED THE NUMBER.
I'm pretty sure this was a scam claiming to be Microsoft technical support. He said he's been receiving reports of viruses from my computer, asked me to download Team Viewer after entering in an address into "run," and he treated me like I was computer illiterate the whole time. I'm thankful I stopped talking to him right when he asked me for ID and Password numbers. He was persistent, I asked him to email me, and he said, "Sir, how can I email you?! I'm contacting you through this call so we can fix a problem!" That was annoying.
Someone with Indian accent just called 10 mins ago. Same tactics as D Hancock, only I told him was skeptical he was for real. Told him to call me back in 1 hr. Got a tec agent ID - likely not real.
