last week, when I received these calls, I emailed my state's Attorney General's Office. Today, they called me and verified these are scam calls and are being investigated.
DO NOT return their calls, except to tell them you are aware it is a scam.
DO NOT send them any money.
I have not received a call since I told this man that I knew he was a scam.
I received this call today. They stated they were with the Financial Crime Enforcement Network. 202-239-7044. Stated that I was receiving this call due to a Federal lawsuit that was headed my way. This department of the Federal Government does exist, however, this is for the invesgation of money laundring etc. A scam from some debt collector I guess
I received a voicemail from the same guy that everyone else is getting. I never took out a same day loan. The man said call back before something bad happens to me. In February I was getting calls from all different numbers and they were harassing me and when I asked who was calling they hung up. For 3 days I was getting over 60 calls a day. They finally stopped calling every few minutes but I still get voicemails. I did file a complaint with the attorney general office and for the 3rd time added my cell number to the Do Not Call List. It is very frustrating to say the least. Thank you for all who have taken the time to pass along helpful resources and I hope that we will not receive these ridiculous harassing calls from scumbags who obviously enjoy getting others worried or upset.
