Just got a call from a woman who was inintelligible. A man took over and said he was from HHS and I told him I was not going to give out information until I saw a website. He gave me a website ending in .com (not .gov as a government website). He said he would call back in 30 mins. Never called back. You would exspect a good scrammer to at least hire an American sounding person or make up a better story.
I had my cell phone off during a meeting and missed this call. They didn't leave a voicemail so I googled the number and found this page. I really appreciate everyone who told what happened to them, it reassures me I didn't miss anything important! Love these sites that let us share info and warn one another.
Woman with a strong Indian-Arabic type accent said I owed the federal government $9,000 but I did not have to pay it all if I would just send....at which point I hung up. I knew it was a SCAM!
