Caller from 202.381.2728 stated he was from the "federal government" department of grants and/or treasury department. Said I'd been randomly selected from among 1500 people in America to receive a once-in-a-lifetime-grant of $9,000. Said his name was "Adam Smith". Accent & unfamiliarity with english words and terms indicated to me that english was not his 1st language. When he couldn't tell me whose faces were on the $100, $50, $5, or $1 dollar bills, I subsequently deduced "Adam Smith" wasn't really an agent of the Treasury, however cleverly he tried to disguise his identity. I did manage to keep him on the telephone for about 20 minutes before he started using profanity (barely recognizable) and hung up.
Caller had the a very thick Indian accent, couldn't barely understand a word. As soon as he told me he worked for the US Govt office of grants (randomly selected for $9000-- what a joke), I started laughing. He hung up when I kept asking him to repeat himself. Caller ID listed 202 381 2728 as the caller's phone number.
Got a call today fromthis number told i was picked toget $9000 grant. When i toldhim i'm not supposed to get solicting calls on the number called started to mother f me and threaten he was going to beat my a** i justlauged and hung up ( after a few choice words of my own )
Called my dad, missed the call, left no message. Then like a minute later the number called me and didnt say anything, I kept saying hello, then they said something I didnt understand and hung up on me.
I received a call from +1 202-381-2728, female, Asian accent, stayed they are from the United states department of grant and I was selected for a $9000 Grant that I don't have tip pay back and can use as I see fit. Once questioned on her actual location she hung up. I was trying to get more information, but she realized I didn't fall for it.
