This moron called yesterday and left a largely unintelligible garbled message. He can't speak English well enough to even say the phone number. He had what I think was an Indian accent. After listening several times, I finally got most of it. Said his name was ?xxx Martin "from the IRS, the Internal Revenue Service Department", "Department" - really? Idiot. No such thing. He wanted me or my attorney of record to return the call, "extremely time sensitive", "do not try to disregard this message", "call as soon as possible before an illegal allegation takes place". Illegal? The only think illegal is this scumbag leaving threatening messages on peoples telephones. He finished the call by saying "Goodbye and take care". Take care? Who is writing these scripts??? You just can't find good help these days.

•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
I got same call this morning telling me to call IRS agent Dexter Cruz. Foreign accent, told me he helps the IRS agents and I need to call Agent Cruz for details of the deficiencies on my last several tax returns. I told him I was calling no one and if IRS had problem w/me they'd send me a letter. He got nasty and I hung up. Got a call before this one with possibly the same guy calling saying he was from Microsoft and that my computer was sending Microsoft messages that my computer has been hacked and it's being used for illegal activity. My day for scammer calls, I guess. I'd never ever do anything these people asked - actually, should not have answered the phone.
