I received a large unintelligible garbled message on my answering machine too from 202-506-8051. He didn't speak English very well and appeared to have an Indian accent. After listening several times, I finally understood most of it. Said his name was Alan Blackman or Barkman "from the IRS". He wanted me or my attorney of record to return the call, "extremely time sensitive", "do not try to disregard this message", "call as soon as possible before an illegal allegation takes place". This jerk is leaving threatening messages on peoples telephones. He finished the call by saying "Goodbye and take care". Take care? What a scumbag. This is a scam. Do not call these people back.
I got the same call today- he had a very strong Indian accent with a hispanic name- I could barely understand him. He was threatening my accounts and drivers license and then my arrest for 4K in "Misfiled" taxes. I asked if it was a scam and he got mad, told me to wait for the policeman at my door and hung up on me. The IRS sends certified mail. Ive gotten it before. Glad i googled the number and I'm not alone! SCARY!
Just got a message on my cell phone from someone claiming to be the IRS with a strong accent saying it was urgent and to not disregard the notice. They then said "take care." The person never gave their name or id# which is an IRS standard. The caller id location says DC, USA which I guess is their attempt to make some people think it is legit. This attempt at a scam is so bad it is laughable.
