I too have been getting these calls for weeks every morning around 8am. They don't leave a message and I have never tried calling back. This is on my landline. But... the name on caller ID is Wm Malone not octothorpe.
I got a call from the same number, 2025405120 and less than a minute into the "conversation" (and I DO use the phrase lightly), the earpiece emitted a screeching noise. Sounded something like a fax machine.
I don't know if I'm off-base on this, but is it possible they were trying to tap my phone line to get access/an ip/a lead on how to get into my computer?
If so, then it's a good thing that these identity thieves were calling my cell, not a landline! No computer connection on this thing.
Just got several calls from this number asking to send 385.00 by western union and we could collect our check for 1 million dallars. Yeah right. They claimed to be with BBB, Readers Digest, IRS, and winners international. I have reported to all agencies gave by the scammers. They should go to jail and they just might if they keep calling. Now they say we can only send in 85.00 and assured me this was no scam. I hope they know that the american people are not that stupid! Go get a job and earn your money like the rest of us do! Never mentioned anything about dsl...They gave a website of www.federalsweepstakesand lotterycommission.com. guess what it doesn't exist!

These Scammers are looking for desperate stupid people who do not know its illegal to demand payment to receive a prize and never bother to check before they send the scammers money that they cannot afford to lose.
