Same exact message as Darrell above left on answering machine. Spoken by woman with accent who sounded a bit hesitant reading from a script. SCAM! Caller ID said it was Washington DC.
They said it is from the IRS Legal Affairs of the US Department of Treasury. Says it is for me though it doesn't say my name. Says They have information about tax fraud for me in the last 30 days. Says I should call them back immediately. Says if I do not call them back quickly they will notify the local authorities. The number on my phone does show that it is from Washington D.C.
Got a call from this number an hour ago. She said she was Officer Lisa Jackson from the IRS legal department and was calling about tax fraud. Very heavy middle eastern accent and I could not really understand her. She gave me two different case numbers for reference and like above when I constantly told her I could not understand her she started saying two Sheriff Department deputies would be sent to get me. When I told to put someone on I could understand she got flustered and started saying that this call was being recorded and would be used against me. I said then record this, "there is no way what you are saying is true". She hung up. These parasites need to be put away.
