Got a call from this number today and it hung up immediately after I said my name. Like everyone else, upon redialing it says the number is disconnected. A Google search shows it was once attached to a George Washington University office, though I doubt that remains the case.
Tough to say whether or not this is connected to the news reports about the recorded "yes" scam.
This same thing happened at my work. Man with an accent called and asked for Sarah I sent it to her phone. She came and asked me about it because when she answered they hung up. Then called back again asking me if this was the main phone line of course I said yes and he hung up. I can't not answer the phone at work and I have put the work number on the block list for scam calls.
Same thing happened to me at work. I picked up the phone and said my name and a man with an accent just said "hello" and hung up. The call came from Washington, DC. The number was 202-625-0400. Who do you report this information too?
