I received this same call stating I had won $9000 from the government. Do not agree to the arrangement they offer of depositing $250 in order to verify your identity haha. It is a huge scam people. Hang up the phone and don't give your information to them. While I'm here I may as well inform you of another scam that I believe are from the same people. They call claiming to be from either Dell or Windows Security about your home computer. They claim that you are having a security problem and that they received a report. Do not give them any information! They want to access your computer to obtain your personal information. DO NOT allow them to install or update anything on your computer (they will try through remote access or by email). Hang up the phone and block their number. You're welcome.
I just got the same call with the same info and I was like this can't be real, so I kept asking the lady what's the catch and she said there is no catch. She said it was free and I didn't have to pay any money. I'm pretty sure she said she was going to transfer me to that "Senior Account Manager", but then the phone hung up. Just for fun, I called that 5337 number and nobody answered. I decided to put in that number on here and I got all of these responses about the same call. I'm always leery of stuff like this and I'm glad I am because people will try to get over on you and if you are not careful they will. I always google numbers that call me!
I'm glad I Googled that number before I did The Recovery Act because I probably would have went for it It is a real thing you know I thought my ship had finally landed I'm writing to the President Why are these criminals being allowed to continue to operate like this? We are the US of America! Can we not get these foreigners shut down?! If I tried to run this scam they would throw me under the Federal Reserve!
SCAM/Received call from Gary(english is not 1st language)stating that he works for the US department of Treasury. Stated that as a reward for being a good citizen I was randomly selected to receive a $9000. grant. This man gave me KR114 after verifying my info. Name, address, phone #---he gave it to me. Became aggitated when I ask if this is a scam. Told me to call this # and give them the confirmation #. Jennifer(again english was not 1st language)confirmed my receipt to receive via western union then proceeded to ask for a 1 time fee of $250.00.
I received a telephone call stating that I was selected to receive $9000 as financial aid. Of course Western Union money must sent. I asked if it was a scam and they of course said it was not. I asked 3 more times and of course they verified my address, name and telephone number to prove it was not. Total scam.
Received 1st call, figured out very quickly that this is a scam. Looked both numbers verified thru this site that its a scam. Called the number I was given. Let them through their hook. Stated I needed to set up an account that I would need to deposit $250.00. That is when I told the Gentleman, that I realized that this is a scam, and that I would be notifying my States Attorney General's Office and the local FBI Office. I hung up. The guy called me back. And state I if I did this they have arrested and thrown in jail. Then he hung up.
