I received this same call stating I had won $9000 from the government. Do not agree to the arrangement they offer of depositing $250 in order to verify your identity haha. It is a huge scam people. Hang up the phone and don't give your information to them. While I'm here I may as well inform you of another scam that I believe are from the same people. They call claiming to be from either Dell or Windows Security about your home computer. They claim that you are having a security problem and that they received a report. Do not give them any information! They want to access your computer to obtain your personal information. DO NOT allow them to install or update anything on your computer (they will try through remote access or by email). Hang up the phone and block their number. You're welcome.
it seemed to be a scam and i told them i think its a scam and they said WHAT THE [***], u think me a scam, and i said, i don't think that a US official would use the F word in conversation, and hopefully US officials can speak english or at least grammer
I'm sure that many complete babbling idiots have. That's why the Indian frauds continue trying to work the scam. The fact of the matter is that there are NO grants & if there was the gov't wouldn't be requesting money in advance for them & certainly wouldn't require payment only by credit card, pre-paid card or wire.
This scam is so old it's growing mold. It's very simple. YOU NEVER PAY MONEY TO RECEIVE MONEY! Not for gifts, not for grants, not for winnings. NOT EVER!
Be Safe. Be Aware.
