I just looked at the page you mentioned, http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml
It asks a lot of personal information, and also asks for a PIN.
However, that page is "http" rather than "https". In other words, that page is NOT secure!
Interesting that the government uses a nonsecure page to collect identification data.

If you know you don’t owe taxes or have no reason to think that you owe any taxes (for example, you’ve never received a bill or the caller made some bogus threats as described above), then call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484."
I got the voice mail and as I was calling it back I was searching the number and it came back here. I told the heavily accented man to go **** himself and hung up
Same call from a Vivian Sanders at 8:48 A.M. today. Sounded like she had marbles in her mouth - lol!! Notify the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800.366.4484
I believe the Indian IRS scammers are now using some sort of device to mask their Indian accents. It doesn't work too well. Most people can see through it.
DO NOT GIVE THESE SCAMMERS NUMBERS! I have taken several calls from individuals who were contacted by a heavy accented individual requesting for them to pay fines associated to taxes from 2008-2012. Unfortunately they are using Google Voice VOIP lines and are located in South Africa. Once again they are not the IRS, DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY!!!
