This number called saying something about being from the national Treasury, if I don't comply I'll face "serious" legal trouble. Who the hell do they think they are? Number just says "Washington DC." Can't call it back.
Received a robo-call saying it was dire I speak with them before end of day. Press 1 to get legal help from them; press 2 to face legal consequence. I pressed 1 and spoke with a man with similar voice to robo-call. He had a thick Indian accent. I said "How can you help me?" He asked for my phone number and name and address, etc. I said that he must have had that information because the robo-call says I will be arrested or prosecuted and I am certain he has me on caller ID. Then, I said that "You have called me. I have your phone number in my caller ID. I am reporting you to FBI." CLICK! Big surprise! He hung up! Be very wary of these calls. They are HUGE THIEVES!
they claim to be IRS ad will prosecute if you don't pay them. Most of us know this is a scam but they are probably banking on the elderly being scared and actually paying them. I've been receiving these calls for months from all different numbers, using American names when clearly they are not Americans. Don't know why they can't be stopped.
