Caller ID said Washington, DC. Rcvd it at work 1st thing this morning. Automated message from "IRS" regarding a criminal lawsuit they have filed against me, gave a case # that I didn't get, and return phone number for me or my attorney to call 202-864-1724. The end of the message broke up but essentially told me that if me or my attorney failed to return the call "Good luck as the situation totally unfolds on you". Can't believe the IRS would leave a message like this. Pretty sure it's the same scam/new number.
Total scam. Received call from this number as well as 202-800-5607 where the caller ID showed "Political Call". Claiming that they needed to hear from me or my attorney of record. Both calls ended with the message of " Now if you don't return the call and I don't hear from your attorney either then the only thing I can do is wish you good luck as the situation totally unfolds on you. Goodbye." Added to my blocked numbers list.
At 9:19 am CST, I received a voice mail on my cell phone that requested I return a call to 202-864-1724 with my atty of record and implied that I would regret it if I didn't return the call. I did not see whether that was the number that initiated the call.
