Caller ID said Washington, DC. Rcvd it at work 1st thing this morning. Automated message from "IRS" regarding a criminal lawsuit they have filed against me, gave a case # that I didn't get, and return phone number for me or my attorney to call 202-864-1724. The end of the message broke up but essentially told me that if me or my attorney failed to return the call "Good luck as the situation totally unfolds on you". Can't believe the IRS would leave a message like this. Pretty sure it's the same scam/new number.
My call is pretty much the same verb-age as everyone else. The beginning of the vm is cut off but everything else is the same. The other interesting point is that the case number they gave me is the same as another blogger has listed.
Same message yesterday from a different number, which I blocked. Now, this number, same message as above. They think because they're running the number through DC we are all scared and stupid.
Revenue services. Criminal lawsuit filed against you. The moment you receive this message you or attorney must return call. This issue is extremely time sensitive. Case #CH76295. 202- 864-1724. Do not disregard this message. If you don't return the call and I don't hear from your attorney the situation totally falls on you, goodbye.
