That's an awful lot of trouble and expense to go to when you can just ignore the call.  If you don't recognize the number, don't answer.  Criminals don't obey the do not call list.

Ignoring a phone call isn't easy when a person works nights and sleeps days.  Its bad enough when friends and family call during the "middle" of my nights sleep but it is a real pain when its a telemarketer.

How come the masses are not hunting down these telemarketers, and then hitting them in the face REALLY hard?

Good question. The answer is there are methods of spoofing the originating phone number. You have to be the NSA to know the callers actual origin.
