I also just got a call and they left a message stating exactly the same "the next 24hrs you will be taken into custody ......etc" its all a scam.. dont respond....
I got the same call claiming 4 allegation against my name, asking me to call back that number within 24 hours, otherwise, will be taken to custody by local cops, then I called and an Indian talked to me for 2 sentences before dropping it. This number has been calling me at least 20 times. Its obvious that the entire room where that guy answered my call was Indian. Can you actually believe IRS contract Indian team for serious investigations?
I got the same thing, I read that the way it goes down is someone calls you and you pick up, you say hello and they hang up. They then verify you a real human being and then call you back with the scam. But if someone else calls the number who hasn't been verified it says the number has been disconnected, this keeps cops or anyone else from trying to call them out.
The first call I got was me picking up and saying hello and then hung up on, then later that night these calls started and it sucks.
