Received one call from this company 6/6 and three calls on 6/7 offering to lower our credit card interest rate. Likewise, we were disconnected when we stayed on the line to complain. We have literally had scores of calls from this company over the last year. We are filing a Do-Not-Call Complain form with our state's attorney general.
I have received 6 of these "final calls" about my Credit. Each time I have pressed 1 to talk to a representative to tell them to place me on DNC and they always hang up before I can get the 5th word out. I did call back and press 1 to not be called back, then made a complaint with FCC. I recommend everyone do the same. I am sick of these harassing calls from these pathetic companies just trying to steal money from people with REAL jobs.
If you donate to any charity during the calendar year, especially if it is over the phone, you can go on a list which they then sell to other companies/calling agencies.
Also, I spoke with Verizon when these jerks called me for the 10th time and they recommended NOT answering and NOT pressing 1 as it verifies your number.
What I would do is report these folks to the FCC as often as possible.
206-496-0935 called me at 4:34PM on 06/06/2012. Caller ID said Financial Ctr. The robot call said call was from Card Member Services. The message was that I could get lower interest rates on credit card debt if I had a balance over a certain amount. I am going to report the call to the FCC: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
Reporting these scammers to the FCC works...just did this with a group that wanted to update our trust and wills trust...ya, right. The FCC promptly emailed a response and included a case #. Filing a complaint with the BBB is even better. I've reported four businesses/groups of idiots to the Phoenix area BBB and all have stopped calling. The BBB actually contacts the callers and gets them to respond...amazing!
The caller ID said Financial Ctr and the taped message was that they had attempted contact numerous times and that this would be their last call (YAY) to offer me cheaper credit card rates.
