You can if you have an Androide cell phone. The App is called "tcallBlocking". There is a free version in which you can block up to 3 ph. numbers and then a full version that costs $2.00, allowing you to block unlimited numbers. I just bought the full version to use the wild card. By using the wildcard, you can block an entire area code by entering <206*>.
I have been getting the same calls from various different "206" area code numbers, so I found this App and it has been working for me.
They call 5 - 6 times a day always with different phone numbers but all ring through as long distance so are not picked up. TELEMARKETERS don"t pick up if you don't recognize the number
I just reported them to the PUC. The problem is every time they call, they call from a different number, so it doesn't do any good to block a single number. I've been getting the same "This is Sarah, from Independent Research Group" from muliple numbers and two different area codes; both area codes are based in the Seattle/Tacoma, WA area
Phone rang, didn't pick up receiver. I would like to do something to physically injure this person so that they will never call our house again, such as hitting them over the head with our phone. Our province doesn't have call blocking in our phone system. I'm a senior, physically handicapped, and I just wish they'd go away somewhere and blow their brains out. I'm so fed up with these calls.

Hey, folks, LOOK at the PAGES of compaints about this number -- FOUR PAGES and the first complaint was posted 4 HOURS 47 minutes ago (as I type this)!!!!! And that's just the ones who posted a complaint here. There are 19 complaints posted on the first page alone which multiplies to nearly 100 in less than 5 hours. Based on several other numbers over the past few weeks that demonstrate the exact same thing, there HAS to be a law passed to prevent these scumbags from changing their number every few days, and based on the reports by many of you, that is EXACTLY what's happening.
Blast your Congressmen to do something about this NOW!!!!! Especially the Tea Party Republicans who control everything in DC at the moment, and they are the ONLY ones who can fix this. Tell them to do something FOR the good of ALL of us for a change instead of working overtime working on everything else (okay, I'm resisting any lists but you know what all I mean).
I have received calls from a 206 area code nearly everyday for over a month, at various times of the day. The most recent call was this morning at 9:00 a.m. I never answer the phone as I do not know anyone in that area but they keep calling anyway. Soooooo irritating.
