Report them to FCC. Even if they were a legit debt collector there is a standard message that is required by ALL debt collectors before they even try to speak with you and these people obviously don't have that knowledge. They're probably sitting in a kitchen at home trying to con people with either older dead debts or none at all. KNOW THE LAW!!!
I am a lawyer and received a call from a personal injury client. He said that he had received a robo call from these people stating he owed for an old debt. The debt they were referencing just happened to be related to the matter we are representing him for. Thus, we know the debt was dealt with three years ago. I tried contacting these scammers, and the first time a person answered "legal department." When I started to ask which credit company they represent, they hung up on me. I then called right back and the person answered "mediations." I then said "I am calling from a law firm, can you please tell me what credit company you represent?" I was immediately hung up on again. This is definitely a scam. I deal with credit companies all the time, and one thing they don't do, is automatically hang up when asked to identify themselves. The best thing that anyone can do is to turn them in. If they continue to call, let them know you have already turned them in. I'm guessing they will immediately go away... just as quickly as they hung up on me.
I have received calls from them in the pass saying they needed to serve me papers, I called my lawyer, the lawyer advised me to give them her name and number and have them fax over all documents. My lawyer is still waiting on them.
They called again today and left a message that I am being sued in a $537 million dollar lawsuit.
1-206-922-5331 an automated call saying we were being sued and to push #9 - I chose not to. A few minutes later I got another call from 206 area code 1-206-695-0908 so I didn't answer - I know no one in that area code and I think the numbers are related
Been getting calls for last couple of days regarding the debt that I owe from 20 years ago I asked for more information and they told me just to settle it over the phone so I told them I was going to report them and not to call me anymore when she said don't you want to pay this debt she started getting loud and belligerent with me I asked her to send me the summons and since they were going to send me to court and then I just hung up.
