RS does not file lawsuits. Tax disputes are civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and all contacts are initiated by US mail.
It's not that the laws are so weak, it's that the nature of the scam makes them so hard to catch and prosecute.
Even if they're operating in the same state as the person they call and scam, there still winds up being tons of jurisdictional issues. Ones willing to scam the IRS are more likely to get Federal charges thrown at them, but then those are the ones that are most likely operating from outside the country.
I never got a call but I love pursuing these so I called when I heard of this number. My story is unique and hilarious all at once.
The phone range and was answers by an indian gentlemen claiming to be the IRS. I said I recieved a voice mail about owning money and he read out the last 4 od my phone number and seemed to search his files.
He asked me my name and this is where it gets good...
I said my first name was John, last name Handjob. (Lol)
His response was, oh do you know my name? My name is IF*ckedYourMothwe
That fast he gave himself away. I said that's very unprofessional and asked for his supervisor, still trying to go along with his shenanigans but the following was a flurry of vulgar comments about secular acts with my female family members and me giggling at him. In the 2 minute exchange he said he can kill me and he knows where I am and that he does whatever he wants. Eventually he began just making incoherent sounds to which he hung up.
Now I was amused and decided to call again later on and it was a similar sounding man that responded who seemed to start the scam over. This time I was just Jason Murray. He asked me to hold while he finds info on my file. Then he attempted to softly whisper that this is a scam then pretend like he's still doing his IRS job. I pretended not to hear his whispers and played along. Eventually he just told me to never call again and it is a scam.
I was sad that they weren't even trying anymore. I've had Scammers call me and it's a lot of fun to toy with them. The longer I BS the less time they spend scamming a lwas wise person.
I continued to call but now my number is either blocked or they changed theirs.
No intelligent scammer would be operating in USA. They could easily be found. One time a scammer tried something to me .I found out where they were. Sent them a pizza. They called back to scam me again the next day. I asked if they liked the pizza that was delivered. Told them I know who you are. They are alive at my will. Never heard again. So go ahead threaten them. Enjoy yourself. These are people with criminal records. I was dealing with sex offenders and child porn criminals.
I wish you wouldn't be so hasty and just beat them senseless without thinking. Please, think of others and just hold the guy down, as we want to help beat him senseless!
