RS does not file lawsuits. Tax disputes are civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and all contacts are initiated by US mail.
Called stating it was the IRS and it was their final call. Called number and it said the person we was trying to reach was unavailable. Looked up number on internet to discover it was a scam
I just received the call that the IRS has a lawsuit on me. these people can cause others to have a heart attack. a few years ago I got the FBI scam on my computer where it locked up my computer saying I was in a child pornography site and to pay money to get it unlock. I saw a similar scam being talked about on Hoda and Kathie Lee show yesterday but it wasn't from the FBI.
This scam is alive and well. Just got the call today Jan 15, 2015. Automated message claims the IRS and this is the final notice. That there is a lawsuit against me and to call to make arrangements. 206-973-3241. Didn't waste my time calling back but filled out every form I could find to report it.
