RS does not file lawsuits. Tax disputes are civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and all contacts are initiated by US mail.
I received a recorded call from 206-973-3241 identifying themselves as the IRS saying that they were filing a lawsuit against me. I am quite certain it is a scam; however, it is very annoying. This is the second time I have received this message.
I just got this same call. The same message described in all of these posts here was left on my home answering machine. It said "We have been trying to reach you." Well, they haven't been trying very hard, because this is the first I've ever heard of it. The message said that the IRS was getting ready to file a lawsuit against me. The call came from 451-607-4888, which is apparently a Canadian phone number.
Number 204 973 3241 left a recorded message claiming they were trying to reach me for an irs law suit, when I called number back went straight to a busy signal, I dnt have any worry with irs I believe this is fraud
I got a call, a message, on 1/15/15, stating that IRS had been trying to contact me, and now they were filing a lawsuit against me, and they left this phone number to call. The woman on my voice mail did not have an accent. I called back, got a recording, and that woman had a foreign accent. I reported all of this to IRS, TIGTA.
