RS does not file lawsuits. Tax disputes are civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and all contacts are initiated by US mail.
The caller ID showed area code 721. That area code does not exist. does not exist. The Internal Revenue Service exists. The Internal Revenue Services does not exist. You can tell a fraudster a lot of the time by the misuse of the English language.
I just received a call from this number, and was transferred to someone with an indian accent, his name was Sean Miller and gave a fake badge number. They said I owed $2800 in back taxes and that the only way was to respond in 45 minutes and pay using EFTPS with cash. Good thing I googled the number and saw this!
Well, I feel better now. The message was playing on the answering machine as I walked in the door today. I could think of no reason for us to have problems and it made no sense that they hadn't sent us information by mail. I will ignore this call.
