my wife got a phone call from this number too - same story - a male with an Indian accent calling to tell her our windows computer has been compromised and she needed to have him fix it asap. Thankfully she didn't give him any information. Called the number back and the number is not in service. Would've been fun to mess with them =)
Indian accent, said the name was Alex, from the company Tech Help 24/7, volunteered to check my computer for unwanted downloads. Expected me to unknowingly open the remote desktop access.
Just got my second calls from these idiots.They called me last month and I had checked out the number then. I told the guy "listen moron it's all over the internet this is a scam. When I said that he started yelling at me .Told him I'm calling the cops and he can just go $#@% himself and I hung up.
Was hoping he would call back but I guess he is not accustomed to little old ladies telling him to go @#$% himself. If they call back I will play games. I used to be a bill collector a million years ago and this would be fun for me. I had heard last month that their goal is to get control of your computer to access your bank account etc.
