A male with a thick Indian accent called from this number. Told me some mumbo-jumbo about viruses on my computer and he wanted me to sit at my computer so he could walk me through the problem and fix it over the phone. Obviously some type of scam. He hung up on me once I told him "ain't nobody got time for dat!"
On Dec 19 I received a call from this number, saying there was something wrong with my computer. I asked what company he was working for, and the name he gave didn't match the companies I work with. I have a background in computers and can tell if my there is something wrong with my system, so he wasn't spoofing me any. II currently have a software contract with my computer manufacturer, and I also have a program on my PC that runs in the background to keep my system in order. I became suspicious when he said something was wrong with my PC. In my opinion; beware, because there are companies out there trying to make a few bucks, or trying to steal information from your PC for their own purposes. Unless you recognize the name of their company and you have not done business with them before, then hang up. It's a lost cause.
A man with a this accent called me telling me I had a virus on my PC and he would give me the steps to fix it. I gave him a hard time. Told him I was not comfortable with this and his tone and accent changed, he said OK and hung up
My husband got a call from this number and listened to the guy - now I have no idea what he did with his computer! Any suggestions? I am at work and he is at home and he just called me to tell me he did it!
