I received a call from this number today.  Same as the other posts, the caller told me that there was unwanted programs on my pc and they were IT support for Windows OS.  I told him I have a mac and he said that they support macs as well.  I thought this was unlikely and asked the name of the company, which was Helptech 24/7.  Since this sounded like a scam (he insisted he was not selling anything) and potential phishing, I told him that he would have to call me back another time.  He was extremely persistent and told me he would wait for me to get my computer.  I finally was able to get off the phone with him and immediately googled the company and I found not only this thread but another entire thread of posts as well for the same company (different number) on this website.  I reported the number to the FTC since I am on a do not call list.

No name please
I waited a few seconds before saying 'hello' since I did not recognize the number. All I heard was laughing in the background, so I hung up.  The number is now in my phone's call block list.

I received this call @ 11 am this morning (12/21/13). He said he was with pcspeedy.com and said he was calling about the windows 7 machine that was registered to my spouse's name (Hence none of the computers in the house are registered to an actual name, I started to laugh). I then played the game and asked what was wrong. The only thing that came out of his mouth was "Your computer is [***]." and then he promptly hung up. LOL.

A foreign man called from this number and the caller ID said Name Not Found, and he said something was wrong with my computer, so I let him talk for a while (knowing he was full of it) and then he said, so what is on the screen of your computer right now, and I told him I am sure this is a scam and hung up on him.  They are idiots.

Today, we received a call on our home line from 1-212-077-1263. An Indian man proceeded to tell me that this "courtesy call" involved a potential virus on my computer running as csrss.exe. I was less than friendly, contemptuously informing him of his criminal scamming. For those that don't know, csrss.exe is a Windows process that is not a problem unless it is running from a location other than c:\windows\system32. Windows will NOT run without this file. He wanted me to look at my pc, confirm that the file was there (of course it is!), and then he would scare me into letting him have remote access to my computer, where he would "magically" find very bad viruses and extort money from me, usually $199-$249 to "fix" this imaginary problem. Please, if you ever receive a phone call regarding an issue with your computer, just hang up. Do not go to any website they instruct you to. If you are nervous or have questions, call me, or someone else you trust. Do not trust any unsolicited caller.
