Ya, I got it too, mine was from the "US treasury", final notice that they received a legal petition notice concerning a tax fraud against me and to call asap. 2133428377. I also received another one, a final notice from the IRS because they are filing a lawsuit against me 8882152217. I looked up posts about that number and someone said that they called the number and it was something about the elderly. So annoying.
Here is what I don't understand.
We all have this number (213) 342-8377 and have all gotten this fraudulent call.
The phone company must have a name, address, etc. related to this account.
How much easier could it be for the authorities to prosecute these people than that?
Received a call from 213-342-8377 saying that This is Judy Smith (a woman’s voice) from the Department of the United States Treasury. This call is official final notice from United States Treasury. The nature and purpose of this call is to inform you that we have received a legal petition notice concerning a tax brought against
you still before the matter goes before Federal claims court or before you get arrested. Please call us immediately on our hot line 213-342-8377. Make sure you call us as soon as possible.
I Checked on Line and Found this information about the phone number Name and address of the owner phone number 213-342-8377.is located in Los Angles, California. Its exchange 342 in managed by US TELEPACIFIC Corp.
I received a call asking to call this number 213-342-8377 immediately regarding a Legal Petition from the US Treasury department. Of course, I called immediately, since scammers usually do not provide a phone number. The person on the line asked me for my name which I provided (first mistake) and then continued to let me know that several attempt were made by mail to advise me of an outstanding balance from the US Treasury for $9,864.55 for taxes due in 2012. He advised me if I don't pay immediately there will be a warrant for my arrest. I asked him his name and he said "Tom Smith". When I said to him: "You can't even speak english and you have an American name, where are you located?" He replied: "In your p---y" I advised him that he was a scammer and I was calling the police. Of course, he hung up... These people have to be stopped! They are taking advantage of the elderly, especially.
RC's post perfectly describes the message left on my machine yesterday.

I called the number; it was answered by a man with a heavy Indian accent. When I asked him to repeat his name and badge number cause it was unintelligible, he hung up.
