It was just blank air. I hung up. I am on the Do Not Call List. We also don't ever receive calls on this phone except for the occasional telemarketer, so I was suspicious. Sure enough that's what it was.
My husband keeps getting these calls and when they tell him there is a problem with his computer, he asks "Which one?". The caller doesn't seem to know and asks what type of computer he has. He says he has several computers and wants to know which one they found the problems on. Silence on the other end of the phone. He asks several times for them to identify which computer and they eventually just hang up. What a scam!
This is the [***] microsoft support scam. It's getting out of hand. If I receive another phone call from the Indian named John, "LOL", I am going to find out their physical location and cave John's face into the ground. I juse Linux as my daily driver so no, JOHN, you are not getting reports from my computer. If you are in need of a good laugh, go to youtube and watch people troll these scammers. Some of the videos will have you crying with laughter. But seriously, "JOHN", if you call me again, I am going to do everything within my power to find you and cut your guts out of your body while you still breath.
Man with Indian accent asked for me by my first name. Saying he was with Microsoft, he explained he needed to correct something wrong on my computer. I asked him what operating system I was using and he replied it didn't matter. I told him I was using OS X on my system and did not have any problems with it. After a long pause, he hung up. This is a scam and, especially since you can hear the noise of a calling center boiler room in the background, I don't know how anyone falls for it. They call about once every two or three weeks.
