I received this call at work. Did a little investigating and dug out it is a company calling themselves Green Certifications, it does appear to be a scam and the website they have listed is very....strange. I won't go into all of it but suffice to say do not say yes to anything or give them information of any kind. I ended up getting a call back number for them and there are only two people that answer. They to are trying to get more information.
Got a call from these people today (4/14/2011), and was informed that it was just to verify contact info for the business I work for. The lady on the phone assured me that this was not a sales call and was being conducted solely to update contact information. After that, she informed me that I will be transferred to another person to "verify" the information while being recorded. While on hold, there was a recorded message asking for info while the lady on the phone was pushing my phone # on her key pad. Also, it would ask me for my name, my title, and address. I explained that I was not authorize to make any purchases or anything that would obligate my employer to buy something. Explained to them that my title was a customer service rep, however, since they didn't have "customer service rep" as a category (really?), she informed me to say that I was a "personal coordinator". Anyways, where I started to get really suspicious was when the recording stated me to verify that "I was at least 18 years old, and authorized to........." This is when the lady came back on the phone and talked over the recording telling to confirm and say yes! I hung up. They called back but I didn't answer....
Called office. No reason for anyone in PA to be calling. I figured it was a scam and picked up receiver and immediately hung up. They'll never get an answer here.
