9/29/14 - Received a call from this # 216 894 3535, woman with a heavy Indian accent stated she had called several times over the last few days/weeks to notify us of a technical problem with window on our computer to which I answered, oh really.. give me a good number where I can call you back, she said that she couldn't do that. I told her I seriously doubted there was any problem with windows, because we didn't have windows, she hung up!
Beware!!
Received a call at 7AM warning me about Windows PC being infected by virus. Asked not to be called and was told "go to hell". I am on Do Not Call list but still receive annoying calls.
The Do Not Call list does not protect against criminals. It is just a list and the criminals don't obey it.
These criminals are calling from India and committing fraud, extortions, and other crimes that must be handled by the appropriate government agency. Not the DNC. It won't do any good because since it is international, it becomes a government to government thing and that particular government is not very cooperative with ours.
The DNC registry does not protect you from any unwanted calls. It is just a list purchased by those legitimate and registered with the FTC Telemarketing businesses that uses the honor system to limit sales calls to those who are on the list. It does nothing else and was never intended to.
Multiple calls from 216-894-3535, claiming to be a Microsoft certified support agency.. When I ask for the name of the company and ask them if they are calling from a wireless number (216-894-3535) they hang up.
I got this call a few times and went along with them for a few minutes, messing with them about the letters they are saying and frustrating the hell out of them. I play along for awhile, get them excited about me possibly falling for it, then cuss them out. Have some fun with it. What the hell! It can be quite entertaining!!!
My wife just received our first call from mobile 216-894-3535 from Mike Jordan (really, Michael Jordan?) from Windows Technical Support. Thick "Indian" accent. When she said that her husband deals with this, the caller actually offered a call back number of 424-253-0684 which appears to be XO in Beverly Hills, CA. Not bothering calling though.
