Received several calls and voicemails from this number and others over the last few days. All from "irs" but when I mentiongetting many calls they hang up.
A guy calls. I could hardly understand him. Sounded like his voice was digitally covered. Something about my taxes and that I should call his supervisor at the same number he was calling from, saying he was Peter Milano . The number was 253-465-6014. Never called, sounded like a scam.
IRS will not call. All of these are fraud. Keep calling their number to tie up there phone line. Keep screwing with them and they will have to change their number.
Same call, same scam. They called our land line so I blocked the number but my guess is that they will change numbers soon as DOJ or IRS IG investigates the calls. It appears from the other comments they have been using this number for about a month and that is probably close to the shelf life for using a phone number for this kind of scam. Makes one wonder what the source of the phone numbers they call is. Stuff like this is why I refuse to give out phone numbers etc. to retailers like Lowes and Target when they ask for your email and phone number at check out. We all know how well they protect our personal information.
