We have great credit, thankfully, but somehow my cell number became the target for collecting on a student loan. There were tons of calls (I never answered thanks to these websites) and then peace until today this number showed up. So not sure how my number got on their lists, I haven't had a student loan since 1983, and it was paid up long ago. Bless you all for reporting on these numbers.

They are a debt collection agency and I believe they specialize in cases with little or no legal recourse. Unfortonuately my wife and I got over are head with our house (it was our first and we didn't realize how the market works). We ended up going through forclosure (non-judicial). California doesn't allow banks to go for restitution in cases of non-judicial forclosure. Basically they get the house and thats it. These come in as a sub-contractor (they don't even bother purchasing the debt, they are basically paid by the bank for there hours worked on the case) to call and annoy the person into paying an amount.
I have no idea how to get them to stop. The bank took the house months ago and I'm still getting calls. No threats though, just a daily reminder of the poor decision I made years ago.
Received a call during which they stated my aunt had used my number as a point of reference on some application. Not even close to the truth. My aunt and I are very close and she has never used my name nor number as a reference. How do I get them to stop? Frustrating.

Got two calls today, 1/17/08 at 8:58 am and 3:36 pm, no message left, just calls on cell phone. I do not answer callers I do not recognize, just let the call go to voice mail. Found out callers were debt collectors, do not know know from whom. Will not answer in future, really annoying, hope they earn their money.
Keep getting calls from this number. They never leave a message, when the phone is answered, they hang up. What is with that?? If someone wants to get in touch with me, they should send a letter! I have had a problem with indetity theft, so I am now very careful of what calls I take and who I talk to.
