We have great credit, thankfully, but somehow my cell number became the target for collecting on a student loan. There were tons of calls (I never answered thanks to these websites) and then peace until today this number showed up. So not sure how my number got on their lists, I haven't had a student loan since 1983, and it was paid up long ago. Bless you all for reporting on these numbers.
Since we no longer have caller ID, I did the expensive thing and dial *69, just in case it was for a job interview. Rang three times then they hung up. Earlier in the day, we got a call for a Joel with the same last name as our family's but there is no Joel. Probably looking for a relative. I don't know if this was from the same caller, though.
they called my job 10 times in one day about a cross country account and when i did not pick the they left rude messages with my coworkers i eventually paid some of the money and they did not call back for the ballance the caller id on my jod phone said tate & kerlin .they gave me the address of there office i whent on line and google tate and kerlin and saw that is was the same listing as the guy had given me , these basted are so rude.i have no phone number at hom so they were callin my job every day. may rot in jail.
OMG!!! They would owe you so much money! All you had to do was report them to the Consumer Reporting Agency. You need to know the laws of the Fair Credit Act. That is what these bums rely on...our ignorance of the law. This one company took 500+ from my check when I only owed 150. Well, guess what??? I reported his [***] and he told them a lie so he wouldn't have to pay the 1000 per violation but he did have to give me a check PRONTO for 350! I know he hated that chit. He thought he had it made....lmao!!!
First time he just said, hello, is this your ss#? As if I was going to just give all my info to random strangers. I asked what the name of the company was and he ignored me, said, Is this your address? So I hung up.
He called back instantly and I picked up and said I didn't give out info to strangers and I didn't talk to people who ignored my questions. Hung up.
Called back a *third* time from a blocked number. Picked up, said, "Are you kidding me? Leave me alone." Hung up.
Called back a *fourth* time which I ignored.
I don't believe this is a real collection agency. Guy is too desperate and out of line.
